So high

Another rare visitor
perhaps just passing by.

Return visit

Always aloof
nevertheless welcome,
though not regularly seen.

Rare visitor

A rare visitor
though common in other places,
hope it drops by again.

To de-stress

Fluffing
Stretching
Smoothing
Preening with style

The big picture

A beauty and its wings,
We will look
at what we want to look at.

Dig deep

A feast
for a little fellow,
abundance
nature's gift.

Alluring but ....

However one views it -
lovely, tempting
But wise to keep one's distance.

(until I learnt much later these are edible but have to apply caution when doing so for the fruit can cause numbness in the mouth when bitten into)

A routine

A routine,
preening,
Enjoyed by both
adult and juvenile.

From afar

A visitor from afar:
This species breeds in eastern China from Guizhou, Hunan and Zhejiang north to Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang, in Korea, in the Japanese islands of Honshu and Kyushu and marginally in extreme south-eastern Russia. They migrate south to winter from southern China and Myanmar.

A place for play
A place for food
My natural playground
and home.

Bird style

Bird style:
it need not be pretty,
it serves its purpose.

For me, and for you

Preening,
I do
You do
and I for you,
Together time.

Not for food

And this one
bites and gnaws
before it stores.

Silhouette

An intriguing profile,
Sinewy, delicate,
A mystifying balance.

Nature's way

Obstacles, a part of life
but always, there is
a way through,
Look around and we learn.
