 Another day, another take with a male Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker.

Rufous Wooodpecker

I guess it's a case of mistaken entrance, and hasty retreat, naturally.

The Rufous Woodpecker flew suddenly into the residence compound, a most unnatural appearance, and fortunately, and unfortunately, just afforded enough time for a record image.

Blue-eared Kingfisher

 A morning dedicated to a little blue gem, the Blue-eared Kingfisher, an infrequent visitor to both the hill park and the taman.

Both adult and sub-adult have been seen to visit, and on this occasion, a sub-adult that has not quite mastered its fishing skill.

A beauty whether from afar or near.

A sub-adult male, its bill yet to turn fully black.

Finally a catch after several dive attempts.

Another go for a meal, which unfortunately ended in zilch, but a beautiful photo op for me.

The cycle of life never stops, and changes never cease to amaze.

It's a juvenile female Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker that looked like it's quite new to the scene, less hyperactive as an adult.
