The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

Changeable Hawk-Eagle

A time to relax as one leg is comfortably stretched.

But it's obviously not comfortable being watched!

Black-naped Orioles

And the yellow fever continued as I encountered another family of Black-naped Orioles, of which this time there were four, a pair of parents and two sub-adults.

A noisy morning and flurry of activities as the birds hopped about the branches, called and 'loitered', coming across like the parents were trying to 'wean off' the young.

Fleeing and regrouping seemed to be the order of the morning.

Black-naped Oriole

Gorgeous, pristine, intensely vividly fresh looking, an easy one to fall in love with.

This lucky young Black-naped Oriole was still indulged by its parent with feeds.

However, when left alone, it's a steep learning curve.

Dropping its pick.

Second time lucky, but to balance itself was another challenge.

Another balancing act.

And a reason why it had to make it, if it were to have another easy feed.

Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker

Another young one past 'chickhood', a Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, still moulting, left alone by its adult to fend for itself.

Oriental Magpie-Robin

'Chickhood' is over as the young birds are seen following their parents for easy grub.

A young Oriental Magpie-Robin still calling on its parent for feeds, but was completely ignored as it was eventually left alone.

Crested Goshawk

It was time to play catch up, and what a refreshing renewal to be greeted by the crisp-looking Crested Goshawk.
