Something may be brewing for this one

I was stopped in my track by persistent knockings which revealed that a woodpecker was in the vicinity.  Ahhh, could it be that the Banded Woodpecker was in preparation!  This could be a space to watch in the coming weeks.

It was soon joined by another.

Whether the threat was real or imagined, one of them got distracted, flew off suddenly followed by the other.
