Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Hullo raptor from below

This area may be host to a rather exciting mix of avian migrant visitors but sadly not to the big ones like the raptors.  An occasional one may descend to the taman but more often however, a pair at most will be seen circulating above.

On this occasion it's just another pair seen circulating above the bukit as I made way up.  The Oriental Honey-Buzzards (Pernis Ptilorhyncus Orientalis) are among the raptors most commonly spotted here during this autumn migration.

And I was able to capture only one with the other already way up high when I sighted them above.
