Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Orange-backed Woodpecker

By nature, by season, man cannot have his wish by will.

By a little timeliness, perhaps luck, or will of Nature (?), this female Orange-backed Woodpecker was spotted in time due to a mere squeak.

Chestnut-breasted Malkoha

Success can assume varied appearances, a catch, a sighting.

Time when a threat is mere perception, unwarranted.

And so, as I took my eyes off the Chestnut-breasted Malkoha for a second, then to return my focus and was shocked to see that it had amazingly gulped down its frog prey till its hind legs, obviously still guarded against my presence/threat!

Secure and relaxed once again.

Brown-throated Sunbird

The common sometimes can be a disappointment, how so!?

It's not often that the Brown-throated Sunbird catches the sun beams ever so rightfully.

As I was waiting

Sometimes the taman has interesting visitor.

Large woodshrike

The most unexpected can bring much joy, regardless, open up.

What you get when you stand below a Large Woodshrike after a bath, shower of happiness.

Not welcomed

A couple of days later it has appeared again.

However, sometimes a visitor has no place in another’s space, as this Crested Honey-buzzard was pursued and eventually chased off by a Changeable Hawk-eagle.
