Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Two but not as one

When the much-missed Chestnut-breasted Malkoha flew in, I released a sigh.  Finally I thought - even though I've had many encounters before but this time it had been too long since my last encounter with it.

I was still thrilled despite it being pretty high up and in bad lights.

And then it happened, hopped, hopped hopped, and it came down right before where I was hoping it would.

Still not in the best of lighting, and a tad too close (talk about gratitude!), then how could I have asked for more, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw another fly in!

Curiouser, and curiouser, you and I as we got closer.

And there was this other one, perching even closer.

And all's well that ended well as I bid 'till next time'.

It must be luck!

It was loud and persistent, but it was elusive, but I knew, I knew.

And it had popped up in unexpected sites, and finally when I got it, I only managed two images before 'SD cards full' popped up!

Nightmare, or luck!?

It's the uncommon Yellow-eared Spiderhunter visitor to the hill park.
