Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Birds and their heart songs

Do listen even if you don't comprehend.

The crow's cawing may not be music but even it wants to be heard

This common iora may be small but it can still be heard above the others

This asian koel is tireless and persistent when it koi-ooos to/for a mate

The oriental magpie robin sings most loudly from atop the tree

Running wild and free

The park is a playground for this little fellow, and his acrobatic stunts.

A beauty is a beauty, by any other name ....

When its name belies its beauty.

Common name: lobster claw

Common name: tapak kuda or horse's hoof

Colour my world

The park beams brightly.

Soft creamy green

Sunny orange

Vibrant yellow

Titillating pink

Demure white

Unforgettable lilac purple

Nature's way

This formation lies close to the pond where most of the turtles in the park reside.

A natural formation that bears an uncanny resemblance to a turtle.
This could be the only thing left if man regularly steals the real one from its natural habitat

There is constant growth

Death sometimes does not come easy.

Nature renews itself

Dying and growing is a cycle

The ugly side of the park

When indifference rules.

When rain does not fall

When flow stagnates

One that lost its life

When man care less

Only man does this to another

Reflections

It's beautiful however you look at it.

The Secret Song

The Secret Song

Who saw the petals drop from the rose?
I, said the spider,
But nobody knows.

Who saw the sunset flash on a bird?
I, said the fish
But nobody heard.

Who saw the fog come over the sea?
I, said the sea pigeon,
Only me.

Who saw the first green light of the sun?
I, said the night owl,
The only one.

Who saw the moss creep over the stone?
I, said the gray fox,
All alone.

All creatures big and small

They come in all shapes and sizes to the park.

A slender one hangs delicately

Big but not threatening as it slithers off

Petite and poised

One in its own class

The water element

Ponds dotted the park.  A shallow stream flows alongside.
Tall buildings add an unnatural flavour

Where there is water there is always life

A small pond sits quietly
Water lilies lend an elegance in another pond

When you can choose to walk

Today is mother and child's day out
Striding out with mother
A time to bond and learn

Keeping watch at the same time

A morning walk

A lone zebra dove enjoying its morning walk.
Lost in thought

Or perhaps walking meditation

Nevertheless one step at a time

The park has been a safe haven, thus far

Those who care will let be

Trees in the morning

Age-old trees bask in the morning sun.
When the sun hits, even old bark glows

Beauty in the eye of the beholder

Old trees play host

Even the ants are out to enjoy the warmth
