Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The other 'king' of fishers

It was a rare occasion for the Little Egret to stray so far inland from its usual hunting ground along the river, perhaps the park was absolutely quiet that morning with only this one lone soul wandering around.

Knowing how super alert it could be, I had to keep a fine distance.

And it looked like success upon success, tiny may be its catch.

Surely not the water lily, dear!

Another one

And as it was going for another, it somehow sensed my presence way across the pond!

Fortunately remaining stationary, I managed to avert its apprehension, or was it hunger that prevailed and it moved on, for another catch.

Another target

And this's what made it different from the other king of fishers!

And it's a winged prey this time, a dragonfly, in its diet that's mainly fish but can also include amphibians, small reptiles, crustaceans, insects and worms.

I shared in another of its success before I decided to leave it alone.

And so it's one of those few opportune times when a bird could move about freely and unconsciously and not be hounded for more and more images!
