The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

An Oriole moment

The Black-naped Oriole is truly one of the more gorgeous birds to photograph, not easy either because of its yellow colour that sometimes defies focus.  Unfortunately this bird is ubiquitous and many tend to take its presence for granted, couple with the fact that for such a stunning bird, its calls are generally hardly refined.
Nevertheless I had an opportune occasion to capture this bird in all its glorious hues.

When it hopped down for a catch, I thought, I was hoping for some luck to capture its success, and I certainly got more than what I would have asked for.  Gratis!

And what was most interesting was how it played with its catch and flew off with it instead of gulping it.

Looked like it was going to down this but ...

No, it did not, still holding on.

Perhaps it sensed my presence because it suddenly turned the other way and fled.
