The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

Siberian Blue Robin

An unexpected sighting is almost always the most thrilling of any avian find.

I was halted immediately in my track by an unmistakable soft whistling, and seconds later a Siberian Blue Robin (Larvivora cyane) came into view, with another unmistakable trait of rapidly flitting its tail.
A total surprise as I thought this migrant visitor would already be on its way home.

And I thought this was all the view it would afford me.

And then I thought I was absolutely lucky that it obliged me with this.

And then I accepted that I couldn't have asked for more, when it flew in again just metres away.

And hung around here for a few seconds.

The tree stump was like a perch awaiting its appearance.
Almost fearless that I had to back off.
