Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

On the top of the world

When you have all the time to sit and dare.

Watching the world pass by
A penny for my thoughts

As I walk alone

The many stances of the pond heron.

Seeking

Waiting

Questioning

Striving

The day of human invasion

One fine day there was a food fest ....

Wonder what our four-legged inhabitants of the park will think of this

A sea of colours

A sea of metallics

The park serves its function, hopefully man remembers its obligation too in return

When birds dance

If you're happy and you know it ....

A dance of joy, an act to behold

Watch me, I'm just getting into the act

Going it alone

The lone jungle fowl in its own world.

Finders keepers

Feast for the day
Got to get it away

"The world is too much with us"

The World Is Too Much With Us

The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;—
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon;
The winds that will be howling at all hours,
And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers;
For this, for everything, we are out of tune;
It moves us not. Great God! I’d rather be
A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
So might I, standing on this pleasant lea,
Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;
Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;
Or hear old Triton blow his wreathèd horn.

Of golden chains and powder puffs

The women will love these.

Golden chain tree or common laburnum

Not quite the powder puff but nevertheless alluring
Powder puff flower

Golden penda flower or xanthostemon chrysanthus

On the roll

It ain't heavy, it's for my baby, it's the mating season.

Collecting materials

So in a rush

Still, it needs to know where to go

On the move again

Fruits of the wild

Stunning colours and shapes.  Who would not be attracted to these?

Gorgeous huge bunch of the wild palm

Attractive even when it's drying up

Furry red clusters, exquisite green leaves
A coppersmith barbet with leftover sweetness on its beak after its feast

Wonder if these are a hard nut to crack!

Tantalising clusters
A yellow-vented bulbul stands guard over its pick

Stunning red goblet of a fruit, perhaps poisonous as it was left well alone

Pleasing shades of brown, only nature can create

Wild green banana, gorgeous maroon flower

On that blood moon night

Not so scary moon over the park, but nevertheless a beautiful one.

Looks like a normal one, until ....

... a close-up that shows a different aura

The art of balancing

How low can you go ....

Old but still going strong

Balancing in tandem

Another one on its morning walk

It's elegance personified.

With nary a thought in the world

Could be walking meditation

This one can teach us a thing or two about rhythm and momentum
