Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The striped one

It was not conflict but infliction, human infliction.

A repose broken.

But this completed my Shrike sightings for the season, albeit it took comparatively longer to finally seek out a Tiger Shrike (Lanius tigrinus)(Tirjup Harimau).

What's in a name?
'Tirjup' means twisted, or to stun, but add the word 'burung', 'burung tirjup' refers specifically to a shrike bird, perhaps therein lies the rationale.

And what's up?

The power of one, for even a tinier shall command the moment.

Awaiting, game? the spotter and the spotted ....

Suffice, to know you there, harmless.

Another day, another presence.

Just a comparison.
