The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

Tis' indeed barbets season, I/III

Feeling joyous and triumphant for the newly fledged Lineated Barbets, I walked into the taman to have a look at the Ficus tree that had been the food source for these barbets over the weeks, and stumbled into this Coppersmith Barbet that looked like it had newly fledged too.

Shortly after, this young chick was bullied to flee by the ever invasive and pervasive Asian glossy starlings that descended on the tree.

A couple of days later I learnt that there's a pair of Coppersmith Barbets feeding their young.

Could this juvenile be part of the brood and had fledged earlier!?
Or are there more than one broods of these barbets in the taman corresponding to that of the Lineated Barbets!?
