Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Confrontation of the 'stripes'

It is said that a great host enables a visitor to feel at home, and likewise an ideal visitor makes his host feels at home too.  But looks like this visitor is one big challenge, not welcomed at all.

The familiar persistent clicking suggesting the presence of a Tiger Shrike somewhere drew my attention and I knew there's an on-going confrontation.

And as expected another familiar desperate calls were quickly followed by the appearance of the Stripe-throated Bulbul.

But it looked like this guy ain't going anywhere till it had off-loaded!

And so it's victory on home turf, and the sun shone again for the local.
