Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Size is not might

When this one came gliding across my path, so low almost scraping the ground, it was with abated breath that I practically stayed 'glued' to it to its perch, for surely it must be a prey spotted that caused this haste.

Then anti-climax as it merely perched and scanned.

Then a sign of aggression? defence?

Still nothing.

Then all hell broke loose, but all like in a silent movie, with the aggressor unexpectedly caught within the frame, alas the photographer's mishap and woe of an image!

Looked like the confrontation hasn't ended yet.

Power must be the wrath of one's whose territory's invaded!

The amazing patience exercised of one that has been overseeing this territory for the last couple of hours, on the very same perch!

And the attacker that was hidden from my sight till it suddenly emerged, and a victory stand following its success before it returned to where it was lurking.

The female (l) and male (r) Crested Goshawk measure between 40-60cm compared to a Crested Serpent-Eagle that could be 56-74cm.
