The Orange-bellied Flowerpecker is one of the more active avian residents here, more heard than seen though, and especially the female which I don't see that much either. This one simply flew past to land across the road, with a furry fruit, or is it a grub, in beak.
Birds are truly exemplary in hygiene as they will normally clean up after a feed, as this one diligently wiped its beak on the branch.
Another 'small' find, from a distance, was the Dark-necked Tailorbird with a sub-adult in tow.
The tailorbird with its glorious dark neck.
However this Banded Woodpecker did make an appearance, perching to call incessantly, outstaying me in its spot as I moved on.
And to complete the morning, this tree with its fruits with leathery-like skin, was pretty bountiful in sight, and I learnt from a botany expert that the fruits resemble that of the Dracontomelon, anacardiaceae family, and could possibly be wild kedondong. Wow!
