Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A 'buzzing' diversion

It's gorgeous, it's stunning but perhaps not so desirable.  Nevertheless, for the moment it's a prize of the taman.

Hmmm, wonder if these will attract any Honey-buzzards!?  These birds are attracted to the larvae and pupae of these honey bees.

** Subsequent to this posting, it is learnt that this hive of these bees aka Tualang bees is more than 5 months old and has reached maturity, so the bees are expected to leave soon.  In addition most of the honey would have been consumed by the young worker bees.
