Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

'David and Goliath'

If there is one little gutsy bird, the Malaysian Pied Fantail takes the cake!  This was the first time ever I saw any bird of that size trying to intimidate a bigger one, at such close proximity.  It was literally flying circles round the Crested Serpent-eagle.
I could not initially detect any thing in the shades other than an obviously distressed bird flying about, going by its vigorous movements and cries.  The Serpent-eagle was indeed well-camouflaged from where I stood, perched unexpectedly low down, not the least fazed by the fantail.

Size is certainly might, and the nonchalant look of the bigger bird was indeed priceless as the fantail repeatedly and unbelievably tried to harass it, to leave I guess.

Unfortunately the approach of a taman worker caused the Serpent-eagle to take off suddenly just as I was preparing to video the entire episode.
