Lest it be said there was no migrant around, the Square-tailed Drongo-cuckoo leaped out with a caterpillar catch as I walked on feeling rather dejected at the current dearth of migrant visitors thus far, both in the bukit and the taman.
I guessed I could safely say there are a couple of these birds around, however, with the almost frequent sightings of these birds, one has to be mindful of not taking its presence for granted, and of any lesser appreciation simply because it's almost monochromatic.
Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.
