Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Discharging indigestible

I suppose if one notices it once, one would continue to notice more easily, and that's what happens with coming across on more than one occasion what is known as bird passing or casting pellet. It's a movement that allows a bird to remove indigestible materials from its internal.

And what's interesting with this Asian Brown Flycatcher was how the pellet was cast with a gluey 'saliva' attached which could be part of the indigestible.

A comprehensive source on pellet-casting is at https://lkcnhm.nus.edu.sg/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/app/uploads/2017/06/2009nis97-106.pdf entitled PELLET-CASTING BY NON-RAPTORIAL BIRDS OF SINGAPORE.
