The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

Two or three

First there was one, then two, and could this be a third?  Or was it the same sub-adult Square-tailed Drongo-cuckoo from before?  However this sub-adult still carried a couple of white specks and on achieving full adulthood would display totally metallic bluish-greenish-black plumage.

This one had come way down to the river bank for its caterpillar catch.

Another easy catch.

A challenging bird to photograph to do justice to its beautiful glossy plumage.  And its location hardly allows a frontal view to show off the white barrings on the undertail and vent.

Bliss, thy name is nightjar

When the rain brought it out .... far far out and open (uncropped image!), I could almost touch it.

And a plantain squirrel, seen hovering about, must have got it back into its inner sanctuary.

Who wouldn't want to emulate this fella, showing not a nary of care in the world!

It does cometh and cometh

I guessed its multiple appearances this season in the taman has more than made up for all the years that I sighted it in both the taman and the bukit, in frustration sans visual records.

The third sighting ...

... and the fourth.

As I was passing by

 Thanks for the cheers!
