Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Small and adorable

This taman seems to have an unusual abundance of common birds like the bulbuls, mynas, magpie robins, and the Common Iora.  However, it is not easy to come across them in pairs.  The Iora is a small bird, often spotted moving about in the thick foliage of trees, and its presence suggested by its rather sharp whistling calls.
So I was quite thrilled to see a pair although perched high up.  Nevertheless, a single bird on the go is always a welcome sight.
