Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Another bird, another triumph

It was another triumph for the taman when a birder friend managed to capture the image of a female short-tailed Asian Paradise Flycatcher, a rare sighting indeed in an urban park.  This truly demonstrates that Taman Rimba Kiara is certainly an important stopover for many many birds.  Let's hope that this sighting is not a one-off occurrence!
A senior birder has also reported before that this bird has been seen to make a stopover at Bukit Kiara as a migrant bird.
