Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Probable final images, Part VI

These could probably be the last few images of the two ill-fated juvenile Lineated Barbets, and it's impossible to tell if these images are of one juvy or of two different juvies, following five days of observing these birds.
This is my last image of the adult feeding a young outside the nest. Although due to inability to focus properly against backlighting, I'm still grateful that I was able to obtain this one shot.

An image of one juvy, a common pose, constantly calling out when left alone, usually from the top canopy of the tree.

An unusual pose, calling from just outside the hole but what's interesting here is how it propelled itself into the nest.

As usual, it would always stick its head out and called till the adult appeared.

Another common behaviour is that the juvy would fly out when the parent appeared, then the parent would fly in, in turn, to emerge shortly.

One favourite image is of the juvy posed against the rich foliage.
