Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Two more early arrivals

A walk along the bukit edge was pleasantly rewarded with the sightings of two more arrivals - the Yellow-rumped Flycatcher and the Tiger Shrike.  These are certainly early arrivals as my personal records have them seen end of September.

02 & 03/2020

I've never failed to find a Shrike in this part of the bukit, for the last couple of years!  Amazing that the shrike always goes back to the same spot or area, although I doubt it's the same bird because it's normally a sub-adult visitor.
