Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Black beauty, almost, of a bulbul

This is only my second sighting of the Black-headed Bulbul (Brachypodius melanocephalos) here.  This bird is more commonly seen in forested area and perhaps even dismissed by some as easy target.

However I find this one a gem, to be sighted in the bukit.  As before it came in a bird wave, announced its presence and then was gone.

I had thought there could be another by the way this fella was scanning but I too scanned, in vain.

A typical pose before it 'unloaded' and then was off.
