Just when I thought I've seen the last of a honey-buzzard, a couple of days later, my attention was drawn by cries of these two birds unfortunately pretty high up this time who seemed to be pursuing one another.
I think I could safely identify them as a dark morph male and a pale morph female of the Oriental Honey-buzzard.
And a few days later, this one, a pale morph male flew in to the taman and decided to spend a good few hours here.
Unpertubed by presence of birders zooming on it from below, it proceeded to perch there for a rather lengthy period.
It also appeared to be extremely relaxed going by its stance of resting on only one foot.
The characteristics of an adult male - distinct dark trailing edge to the wings, thick bands on the tail ....
... grey head, dark iris and dark bill.
And as I was heading home a couple of hours later, who but this one to fly in again, creating a din among the park birds.
The threatening sky did not prevent it from relaxing again although it did look like it was expecting another the way it was scanning around.
