Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Even the Blue-tailed bee-eater

Every avian migrant that is ready to return home to breed simply displays gorgeous rich colours, somewhere, and the Blue-tailed Bee-eater is no different.

This was about two months ago.

And now its orangey-red lower throat dons even brighter colour that has also spread further down to its belly.  Its greenish back plumage has also caught on warmer rufous tinge.

But unfortunately I was at the wrong side of the 'fan' when this bird decided to flex but nevertheless who wouldn't be appreciative of this display.
