Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

One beauty of the bukit

Overheard: "... the birds here are not nice one, all black one!"

And how I wish this one had popped up when that remark was made.

The Chestnut-breasted Malkoha has got to be one of the more beautiful birds here and worthy of pursuit if necessary for admiration.  But I was lucky that this one suddenly appeared a couple of minutes later, foraging behind leaves, pausing to take in its surrounding, and admirer, but occasionally providing full revelation.

And yes, even eye-balling me, or the lens I guessed, to be more accurate.

This is a male bird with pale blue iris whilst the female's is yellowish white (posting of 30 Oct 2021 @ www.rimbakiara.blogspot.com/2021/10/malkohas-playground.html )

Here's to you!

And Hullo there! again when curiosity got the better of it again.
