The Oriental Dollarbird (Eurystomus orientalis) could either be a common resident or a common migrant that breeds from way up north in southern Russia, venturing down through China and Japan to Southeast Asia and even all the way down to northern Australia.
As it's not so common to sight it now in the taman, the appearance of this one at the start of the present avian migratory season could suggest it's a migrant.
Perching characteristically up high and making no attempt to go after any feeds, this bird further hinted of its status, perhaps too tired to move after newly arrived here?
