Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Not an empty nester

The Pied Triller was not an empty nester.
Its young might have left the nest but seemed to hang on still (how it rings a bell here in the human world too).

The begging calls were unmistakable and it was a surprise to spot a very much adult looking female Pied Triller trailing after its female parent.

It landed only to take off again as the parent kept moving away.

Finally managed to catch up.

And a meal at last.

Looked like there was going to be a deprivation here, perhaps a message for the young one.

But the parent caved in eventually, and the catch was seized, swallowed, in less than the blink of an eye!

And then the chase resumed as the young triller went a-begging again.

A momentary rest.

And I thought best to leave with these rather adorable images of a juvenile than with images of a parent's over-indulgence.
