Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A plump Minivet

Had a fleeting encounter with the Ashy Minivet, and this one looked rather fleshy so I wonder if I could take it that it's having a good stay at the taman.  The ones that I had seen so far were rather slender but this one sure looked plump or portly by any bird's standard, which actually had me doubt its identity initially.
It's a common passage migrant and winter visitor so this one should be ready to take leave now.
(At this point in time, have noticed that only the Brown Shrike, Asian Brown Flycatcher and Blue-tailed Bee-eaters are still around.)
