Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Still admiring the Goshawk

Day 26th, a beautiful day when I spotted the gorgeous juvy Crested Goshaw.  And I was silently congratulating it for growing so well, when it came to perch on the casuarina tree, giving me a field day photographing it in the open.  Earlier I had thought it so foolish when I saw it fly straight to a branch where a Brahminy Kite was perching, and a couple of crows were hovering.  It was then scared off and hid in the next tree before it decided to perch in the open, directly before its own nest.

(Who's to predict that tragedy would strike soon [read it in the next post])

It's hard to believe this pesky House Crow could actually even drive off the Kite.

This naive juvy, after having flown to a safer haven, showed its curiosity with its surrounding.  This spot must also be at the highest level in a tree that it has flown to.

I was thrilled when it perched in such an open space, and really couldn't have enough of it, especially when it offered so many poses to admire it.

It's at its most adorable when it started to scratch and preen.

Most cuddly and inviting pose.

These are certainly the last stunning images of the juvy as when I saw it next, four days later, I could only manage the following pics as it didn't emerge from the shade.
