I guessed the recent long dry avian spell in the taman could now be considered as broken by this sighting of an immature Oriental Honey-buzzard that I believed to be of the sub-species pernis ptilorhynchus torquatus. This is also my first sighting of this sub-species in the taman.

Although it was perched pretty high up but because it was so preoccupied with itself, preening and also looked like it was seeking, that it allowed me countless shots.
First it flew in looking wet.
A stunning raptor from any angle!
