Another productive day up the bukit included encountering a pair of Emerald Doves (Chalcophaps indica) that are residents here but not easy to come up close with due to their pretty alert nature.
A little patience and discreteness enabled the pair to ignore my presence although these birds still kept their distance.

These doves certainly are not like the spotted or zebra that could commonly be seen to cosy up to one another. They foraged apart, walked briskly, picking up food swiftly from the ground.
And it's always a challenge trying to do justice to that beautiful metallic sheen off its plumage.
