Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A new Tailorbird

I am simply thrilled to sight a new visitor to the taman, and this time it's the Dark-necked Tailorbird, the third species here after the Common Tailorbird and the Ashy Tailorbird.  And this brings my personal record of total sightings todate for the taman to 89 species.
As usual, this tailorbird is not easy to photograph, and to make it worse, kept to the shade.  Nevertheless, am still grateful that it gave me ample opportunity to firmly identify it.
