Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Flowerpecker of BK

Once upon a time the Orange-bellied Flowerpecker was seen in the taman but it looked like the park is now monopolised by the scarlet-backed flowerpecker.  However, the Orange-bellied can still be seen in Bukit Kiara so perhaps it may come back to the taman.
As usual the flowerpecker is not an easy bird to photograph, but spotting both the male and female is good for record anyway.
