Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Late departure for these flycatchers

The Yellow-rumped Flycatcher is one of the earliest arrivals in the country and it looks like it's also one of the last to leave.  These birds could be from Eastern Russia, Mongolia, North China or Korea, breeding mainly in May and June.

This one which has already assumed breeding plumage is still seen in the bukit.

And a female too is spotted, perhaps a pair?
