The Spectacled Spiderhunter (Acranothera flavigaster), of Least Concern status, is a common bird in lowland, and montane too, forest and forest edge. It's unmistakable by its distinct thick yellow-eye ring although may cast some initial doubt due to the yellow patch on its cheek similar to the yellow-eared spiderhunter (which incidentally I've sighted only once in the taman and not the bukit).
On the few occasions I sighted this bird in the bukit, it's always up high, moving incessantly. As with any spiderhunter it calls out as it moves about so one can easily be alerted to its presence this way.
