Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Fighting OMR

When I saw these two Oriental Magpie Robins on the ground, I was instantly drawn to find out what had happened.  The first thought was perhaps one was injured.

Before I could approach further, there was a sudden movement, and the two birds appeared to be struggling.

And then it dawned on me that they were actually fighting.  What a sight, fascinating!

Both birds continued their fight to the ground and they still continued, literally locked in fight on the ground!

And so it seemed the fight had exhausted them, as both lay motionless, but still locked into each other!

A brief struggle, then both turned to face down, still locked together.

Another movement, and their position might have changed, but still not letting go of each other.

And as still as they had lay unmoved for seconds, as suddenly did they stir and fly off in different directions!
It was certainly an abrupt end, and I must say anti-climax to a fascinating display!
