Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A Woodpecker too close

I may have seen the Common Flameback Woodpecker often enough, but never one too many shots taken though.  When this one landed right in front of me, perhaps even too close, I couldn't help clicking away.

The female flew in suddenly but didn't provide as much photo opp as the male.

And then it's back to the male again.
