Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

No tree ain't too tall

This must be the most favoured spot of the Monitor Lizard as both young and old are frequently spotted lazing on this branch.  This is also a favourite of the birds but unfortunately when it's there, the feathered ones kept away.  And don't be deceived, height is not a problem for this hefty bulky creature.

'Chilling out' on yet another occasion.

It was ever vigilant too as it lifted its head ever so slightly as I approached closer.

Meanwhile elsewhere in Bukit Kiara where this lizard is often seen too, it does manage to blend in perfectly with its surrounding, i.e. it looks like up a branch is also a choice location.
