Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

No easy feeding task for this Kingfisher

The White-throated Kingfisher is certainly a tricky one to approach, especially when it couldn't wait to gulp down its prey.
The nearer I tried to approach the bird the further it flew away despite with a meal in beak.

The lizard was obviously still alive and it took quite a while for the kingfisher to beat the life out of it!

It certainly took helluva of energy to knock off the four-legged one, going by the exertion on its eye membrane and the stomping of its leg!

Looked like the limp prey was finally fit for consumption but unfortunately the Kingfisher took off with it, perhaps there's one waiting for a meal.
