The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

First Wagtail migrant

I have been waiting for this migrant as it was the first one that I sighted the last season about this time of the year.  And finally there it was, the Grey Wagtail.
It obviously got its name from the incessant movement of its 'wagging' tail, as it moved rhythmically foraging, in addition being skittish too that it would take flight immediately if approached.  I had to literally pursue it the entire visible length of the river, and be contented with distant views.

This bird simply blended into the background that one could easily miss it, which I guessed why this kind of environment was its favourite foraging ground.
