It's quite tricky even for a regular bird-watcher to differentiate the Asian Brown Flycatchers when one gets to see them under different lights and on varied perches. I spotted these three different birds in one day, and all were the ABF. I would put these down to adult, first winter bird and perhaps even a sub-adult in moult.
As usual its first sighting always creates some adrenaline rush of 'could it be ....', and then anti-climax sets in. Ahhh, a birder's roller-coaster reaction!
An adult
Could be a sub-adult in moult.
A possible first winter
Perhaps a sub-adult in moult.
