Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Preening Bulbuls

The Stripe-throated Bulbuls may commonly seen in the taman but it's not easy to come up close to these birds.  So when I chanced upon this pair I was naturally delighted as if coming across some rare ones, especially when this pair was preening, looked like an adult and a sub-adult.
