Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Linger the Honey-buzzard

This is the end of the migratory period when most migrant birds either have flown back or are flying back.  This Oriental Honey-buzzard could be a straggler, 'lost in transit' so goes the cliche as it seemed to tarry in and around the taman.
However it did look like it was calling out for another although throughout the rather lengthy duration it was in the taman, no other bird came by.

An amusing moment when it looked like it underestimated its landing, crashing clumsily atop the adjacent highest tree, but it promptly regained its balance to fly off, perching close by.

Whatever it is, the Honey-buzzard is a beauty to behold.
