Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

First Shrike in the taman

 I've got to thank this female Common Flameback Woodpecker for drawing my attention and flushing out the latest migrant visitor to the taman.

And so flew out this Brown Shrike that has been perching silently up on a branch.  And despite the apparent call that the Shrike is making with its open beak, I couldn't hear a single beat.
