Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The starlings are back

 At this initial sighting, there seemed to be more male than female Purple-backed Starlings present, or was I just unable to spot the female ones?  These are amazing birds that just sashayed about in flocks, and this time I managed to spot only 2 flocks, of about 20 or less.
