Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Local or visitor bee-eaters

The sub-adult Blue-throated Bee-eaters have been seen regularly in the taman now, and I wonder if these are residents or visitors.  There is after all a healthy local population, but going by personal records of the last three years, these visitor birds should have arrived already.
